Crouton writes the following about The Outsiders :
The outsiders is a great book full of excitement and the events that happen in this book make the reader want to continue reading the book to find out what is going to happen next. Two boys (Pony and Johnny) are at the empty lot one night until they manage to meet up with some socs. Johnny kills Bob (the leader of the socs) and then both Johnny and Pony have to run away without being caught by the police. They flee to Windrixville, a town about 20 miles from their hometown and stay on a church on top of Jay Mountain. Dally, one of Pony and Johnny's gang member's(friends) comes and treats them to some food. They return to the church after deciding to return to their hometown to find that the church is on fire. Pony and johnny, along with Dally, rescue the little school-children that are trapped inside the burning church and Johnny gets caught in the fire. The ambulances and police were called and Johnny, Pony, and Dally are rushed to a hospital. Johnny is severely hurt and Dally suffers a broken arm. pony is okay. There is a rumble9fight0 between the greasers and socs that night and after the greasers win Dally and Pony go to tell Johnny. They tell Johnny and right after they tell him Johnny dies. Dally was so upset and sad that Johnny died and robbs a convenient store. He rushes into the empty lot where he bluffs a gun and the police shoot and kill him.
