Honestly, i found this book very refreshing. It is a story that whether realized or not goes into depth about the natural man question (is man born good and society makes him bad, or is man born bad and society makes him good?) The utopia the people are in obviously think society makes a man good because of all the rules and boundaries. I love this book b/c it shows too many restrictions can corrupt a people. In this utopia that is exactly what happened. Jonas saw a world out side of the one he already knew, and he realized all these boundaries were no good for a person to live in. there was no individuality, no expression of love or TRUE emotion, and that cannot be good for the development of a person. I think the book did an exceptional job of making a person think, and is very entertaining.
