The Giver was a great book to read. The life in the story was a perfect life that had no errors and that gave certain jobs to the children at a specific age. The main chararcter learns of his new job and realizes that he aquires a job that is like no other. His mentor has the only memories of pain and suffering; if the town had aquired these memories they would not be able to live with themselves. The book is telling that life now is way to harsh on everybody and that we all have vissions of a perfect life. Perfect life is something that we willl be able to have because life is to out control and beyond fixable. This is a great book to read for all ages. Some people might not appreciate the respects of what we have now and what we would have in life.
