christine writes the following about The Giver :

honestly, i think this book is superb. the story is about a boy named jonas and how when he turns 12, he is supposed to be asighned ajob. instead of being assigned a job, he is selected for something incredible. He is selected to be the reciever or memories.there are so many incredible settings in this book such as their utopian society. or the the place where jonas gets his training from the previous reciever. if you don't read thhis book, you are missing a world of fasination. other than the illustrations it is a great story.
