Kat writes the following about The Outsider :

The Outsider, by S. E. Hinton is about a boy nick-named Ponyboy. He, his brothers, and his freinds are all in one gang. There is another gang called the "socials," or "soc" for short. The two gangs rumble frequently. When Ponyboy's freind stabs a soc they both run away. After a while they do come back home. There is some swearing, but not too much. I recommend this book for ages 11+.
