laila writes the following about The Giver :

Though I didn't like the ending which left me with a lot of questions, I personally think that this is a great book. The book talks about this "perfect" community, but is it really perfect? Sure, the community feels no pain and senses no fear but they have no love and happiness. You're missing out on a lot of things by excluding the others. How do you know something is truly good when you haven't experienced the bad? This is one of my favorite books and I recommend it to everyone. Lois Lowry is a great author in this book "THE GIVER".
