I think that this book is a very good book.
THE GIVER is a story about a boy named Jonas in his so called
perfect community. Jonas is turning 12 this December and he is very excited. The big Ceremony of the Twelves is coming up.
In each ceremony of twelve, you are selected a job and you are considered an adult. Unlike our world, we can select our jobs, and we are an adult at the age of 18. In jonas's world there are no
choices, no fear or pain. Jonas is selected as the new Reciever of Memory. In that one, very special job, you will be going through
special, secret training. In the training, jonas will find out what pain,fear,loneliness and happiness is. Jonas's father is a nurterer,
and he finds a newchild that is unamed.
jonas's father takes him home which is against the rules and calls him gabe. Jonas can ask anything with such an honorable job, so he asks what a release is. A screen shows jonas's father with twin males. The father weighs them. Jonas's father dresses up the heavier one and takes him out of the room. He cleans the small one and take s a shot and enters it inside the babys vein. The baby dies. Jonas cries out with sorrow, "HE KILLED IT!" Gabe is soon announced to be released because patrols found out that he was with jonas's family.
Jonas hears the news and takes gabe to a place called Elsewere. Were the emotions and feelings are shared, you dont have to be perfect,
were there is color and happiness and you can have choices.
The Giver was Awsome and i suggest you buy it or download it.
