Have you ever read the book, "The Giver"? Well I have, and I think it?s a great book. Lois Lowry wrote this book.
I rate this book a 9.5 because it is a great book, wait, I already told you that. It tells you how the government MIGHT effect our lives, in such a way that it MIGHT have already! This reminds me of some of her other books such as "Gathering Blue" and others.
I don?t rate this a 10 because, maybe if she puts pictures in it, we might be able to know what she sees the story as.
The characters in this story are so realistic, it?s almost like they are alive and standing here next to me right now. For example, when the Giver said he was having pains, she explained it so well that I felt like I was having the pains. The setting takes place in a community. The theme of this story is so hard to tell, but I think it is that you have your own life, don?t live others. The plot of this story is about a boy who lives a perfect life, and is then chosen to learn what life is really about.
In conclusion, this book is great!
