Steven Johnson real writes the following about The Outsiders :

This book was awsome the characters were like real people. There was excitment at the start and never stoped growing. The author detailed this book so well that I felt I was actually there. This book was about two gangs who hated each other. The Greasers are nice, but poor people. The other gang the Socs are mean insensitive jerks who have too much money and jump Greasers for fun. The main character is Ponyboy, he is part of the Greaser's gang. The story is about him going through some harsh times in his life such as; When he becomes a suspect in a murder. The fact that his brother takes out all his rage on him. He has to runaway to some abandon church and cut his beautiful long greasy hair. The list goes on and on. This book had everything that a thirteen year old could want in it like violence, drama, laughter.
