He lay sprawled, his grey uniform glistening with wet, fresh blood. This one of the many line in the book The Giver that will spring your attention. This book is more of a really really suspensful book but I don't know what genre it would be. I think this is one of the best books that lois lowery has written.
Jonas ( the main character) was a smart, kind, courageous person. Now Jonas thought everything would be great with his life. His exciting (chosen by the elders of the community) career, all his freinds & family. Until he got skipped during his career giving ceromony. At the end the cheif elder called him up and told him that he hadn't been chosen a career he had beeen selected for the receiver of memory. He would begin his train ing for receiver of memory the very next day. But there was one thing about the community then communities in real life. It had sameness. Also it had very very strikt rules such as no lieing and you can't ask questions that would create awkwardness. The rule s he got for his training made thesse rules not regarding him. Now what the receiver of memory does is exactlly what it sounds like. Jonas will be receiving memories that were before there was sameness.
My evaluation of this book out of 10 is 20. This book has so much suspense. So many unexpected events. This book is just unbelivable. One of the other reasons I liked about this book was it had an unexpected ending. I would recommend this book to anyone and or everything.
