Jacqueline/ Jiggly writes the following about The Giver :

I had to read this novel in English class. That's the only reason why I read this book because we had to read it in class. But if it was up to me I would of not read the book.I think that the book was really good. The book was about friends and family. They learn how life comes about. They learn that they should be honest with each other and in the story they find out that the father is lying to them. He tells them that he cleans born babies but he kills the babies. Then in the story Jonas is chosen to be a receiver. To tell about the past and future. Thats how he found out about his father. I think the novel was really good. I really enjoyed the novel. I would recommend this book to everybody who loves to read novels.
