Yanisabel Cruz writes the following about The Giver :
This story illustrates the meaning of life. Every body gets their own job and gets different instructions but what happens when every body's instruction is to lie? What you learned all your life is all a lie. This book was okay. it wasn't what everybody expected but it wosn't as bad as I thought. What a job means to you means alot.It decides if you will get the job or not. Usually your job was good for you until you got to the truth, like Jonas and his father. Jonas thoug that his father's job was okay until he actually saw what his father does to the other child. It bothered him so much that he decided to leave the community. I stop and think maybe that's this community before Jonas decided to leave the community. This caused the community so much drama the first and second time it happened that they thought it was already enough with the job as the receiver. I would recomend this story to anyone and hope you enjoy it more then I did.
