The book The Giver was really interesting. It was very different from other books I have read. This books setting was in a small community that had a alot of rules that had to be followed, if you did not follow these rules you would get punished. You would either be released if you applied for it or if you are to old of age. Jonas was eleven pretty soon he would turn tweleve which meant that he would have to attend the ceremony of twelves. This was when all the Eleven's turn Twelve they now recieve an assignment they have to do the rest of their lives. So the day soon came where Jonas was picked to be The Receiver of Memory to become the Giver.
Jonas received rules that he had to follow such as he cannot share his dreams, he could lie, he could not take any more medicine for his wet dreams. Jonas finds out that his father lies to him now he is unsure of who tells the truth. Jonas watches his father as he releases a baby, which is not the way his father told him. So now he thinks everyone lies.
