Rudy writes the following about The Giver :

I think that this was a great book! I hardely like to read at all, but I just couldn't put down! This book I think is one of my favorite books ever! I waould suggest this book to anyone. One thing I will say is that it is kind of a godless book. I mean it almost sounds like someone is playing God in the book. It's still a great book but it just sounds, to me, a little godless. Everything is chosen for you by a Committee of Elders, and you have absolutely no choices on how you live your life. This book i think is the author's idea of a perfect community.
