kitty writes the following about The Giver :

Hi!The Giver is about a 12 year old boy named Jonas who has been selected to be the Receiver of his community. Everyone counts on him to receive the memories, good & bad from the Giver. The main characters of this novel are: Jonas who receives memories from the Giver. The Giver who gives Jonas the memories. Gabriel who is Jonas's (baby brother). I liked the part when Jonas found out what released meant. I liked it because it was interesting. Jonas was very upset because his father was the one who released people. Jonas thought it was horrible & so do I. It is not the peoples' fault if they are a little different. I would recomend this book because it is very good & interesting. It has excitement & emotion in it all at the same time!
