Elaine writes the following about A Child Called 'It' :

As a child, Dave Pelzer was abused by his mother. She never treated him like a human. She treated her dogs better than him. Ms. Pelzer was also on drugs. She never let Dave eat, except for the leftover breakfast from his brothers. This is a book that I never put down until I finished it. This book made me want to throw up and broke my heart. For this man's pain, I am sorry, for his Courage I am thankful he found it. Bless his whole heart and soul.
