Riley writes the following about The Giver :

I think that the author's purpose for writing this book is to let people no that without memories there is no purpose to life. I agree with the authors message because without love, pain, and joy then there is nothing to live for and life would be meaningless.I think that the Lois Lowery handled the climax best because she made it very heartpounding whenever she told the details of whenever Jonas finds out that whenever his father "releases" new children he is actually killing them.Jonas is the main character in the story. If i could create a society of my own i would want him to help me build it. I would want this because Jonas knows that it takes pain to have joy and love. I dont think that this book had any flaws. The kind of person that i believe would enjoy this book is a very deep thinker. I think that the Giver was a great book.
