Hannah Geisler writes the following about The Giver :

The book “The Giver” is an interesting book with many different people. The main character in this books it a twelve year old boy named Jonas who wants to make a difference in his community. If I were to rate this book I would say it would be about a nine, because it has a very good lesson that comes with it. The whole point of this book is to care about others, and not just yourself. I believe it is also about doing what you believe, and making a change for yourself or others. I would highly recommend this book to every book lover out there. I certainly enjoyed this book, and what to continue reading the series if there is any. This book should be a prize winner in every state, and it should be an honored book. I think the author did an excellent job in writing this book. She defiantly knew what she was doing, and she did an amazing job.
