The book The Giver is a book where people are controlled in many odd ways. The people in this community have no freedom with making their own choices. They can’t choose their spouse, you get assigned a job at 12 years old, and when you become old, or if you are the lightest identical twin, you will get released. Jonas, Gabriel, and the Giver are the main characters of this novel. Jonas is a boy who is chosen for a very important job as the Receiver of Memories. The Giver is the previous Receiver of Memories, and also the trainer of Jonas. Jonas is sick of other people making his decisions for him. He wants to be able to make his own choices! Jonas meets a baby named Gabriel, who Jonas cares for very much. Together, the two boys can accomplish almost anything.
