The Giver is an extrodinary book that won a Newberry Medal! If your a perfectionist you would love the society in this book, except for the surprise toward the end. If your also interested in adventures and survivor skills this book has it. This story is full of all the things that I just described to you. The only thing I don't like about The Giver is that the author should write in first person and become Jonas instead of writting in third person limited. But, what book doesn't have flaws, which is what I believe is the theme of this book. That nothing is perfect. I agree with this message because nothing is ever perfect if you think about it.
The setting is in a small community where everything is supposibly perfect. I think the setting is what the author is best at writting in this particular book because all through the book it was very descriptive, and you knew exactly where the characters were at all times.
Well, I don't know about you, but I enjoyed this book so much. I give it an eight out of ten score. But, that's just my opion, and if you don't believe m that just read the book for yourself and find out what happens to Jonas in the end. Only reading will tell.
