Ricky writes the following about The Outsiders :
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is the best book that I have ever read. At first I thought it would be a boring book but then it got interesting. It had these wonderful characters in it. Sodapop, Darry, Dally, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Two-bit. I?m going to tell you that there are a lot of sad parts. There are also a lot of favorite parts. I love the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
My first favorite part is when Johnny kills Bob to save Ponyboy from getting killed. I liked this part because it was nice of Johnny to stick up for his best friend. My second favorite part is when Dally pulls a knife on the nurse to get to the rumble. I thought this was funny. The third best part is when the greasers win the rumble for Johnny. I liked this part because I wanted the greasers to win and not get picked on. My last favorite part is when Johnny tells Ponyboy to stay gold before he dies. The reason I like this part is because Johnny tells Pony to be himself.
The saddest parts in the book are when Johnny, Bob and Dally die. It was also sad when Darry, Soda, and Ponyboy?s parents died. I think one of the saddest parts in the book is when Johnny dies from saving those kids in the burning church. This made me sad because Johnny was the best character in the book. Another sad part is when Dally dies for pulling a heater on the cops. I thought it was sad because he was upset because of Johnny?s death and he was just going crazy. The third saddest part in the Outsiders is when Bob dies trying to kill Pony and Johnny. This was sad because Bob didn?t want his parents to give him whatever he wanted so he beat up greasers. The final sad part is when Ponyboy, Darry and Sodapop?s parents died. It is sad that their parent?s died because they had to take care of themselves.
My favorite character in the book The Outsiders is Dally Winston. The first thing I like about him is he is a tough guy because he was in a gang. Another reason I like Dally is because he loved Johnny a lot because Johnny is like his little brother. The final thing that I liked about Dally is he is from New York.
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is the best novel I have ever read. I give The Outsiders five stars out of five. You should read it. You will think it is the best book because it tells you it is OK to be different from anyone else. I recommend this book to a group of people because it has lots of great characters in it. You should also read it if you like action.
