DonnaJean writes the following about The Outsiders :
The book I?m writing about is called The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I?m going to write about my favorite character, what I liked about the book, and what the sad part of the book was. I really love the book and I also would like you to read this book.
What I liked about the book was how the fighting in the Outsiders relates to today?s fighting. The groups in the book relates to our century or era. The groups in today are equal to the groups in the outsiders. Some examples are for our group names are: geeks, nerds, jocks, and disc jockeys. The books group names are: Greasers, Socs, Brumley gang.
Next my favorite character in the outsiders is Johnny because he was brave enough to go into the burning church to save five kids. Johnny is the only person that keeps the greasers together but when he died the group fell apart and they became concerned about Johnny. In the greaser gang Johnny is like a little brother to the gang.
Last but definitely not least the saddest part of the Outsiders is when Johnny dies. Before he dies he tells Ponyboy this quote: ?Stay gold Pony boy. Stay gold.? Johnny?s death effected Ponyboy. He was in denial, for an example he thought he killed Bob, the most handsome guy in the Socs group. Also Johnny?s death effected Dally by being so upset, and mad about Johnny dying, he decided to rob a store to keep from remembering about Johnny?s death. Later he died but before he died he tried to pull out his gun but then the cops killed him before he could shoot them.
I really loved the book, especially the favorite characters, What I liked about the book, and the saddest part of the book. If I had a specific person or group to recommend this book I would recommend The Outsiders to Junior and High School kids because the book relates to their age. I would give The Outsiders book a rating of five stars out of five stars.
