brooke writes the following about Hatchet :

I really liked this book. I love books about survival and i adore Gary Paulsin. At some points I did have trouble believing that this book was non fiction because it just apeared to be fictional. This book kept me on my toes and awake at night, so that I could complete it.This is just one of those books where you just have to know what happens next. I did wish that it would have ended differently, but i found that there is a sequal, or alternate ending to the book in my school's library. I will most definetely be checking that out. This book in my opinion would probably be rated a 7 or an 8 out of 10.
