We are reading THE GIVER IN CLASS and I absolutely think it is AMAZING. It is pretty weird and at first I thought the characters were aliens or some other weird creature. I haven't read all of the book because my teacher will not let us read ahead but we always do. Jonan is 11 years old and he lives in a VERY SAFE COMMUNITY. The rules in their community are very weird and with certain ages you get new privelages. Jonas is very worried because it is almost the ceramoney of 12 for Jonas. When he turns 12 age won't matter anymore and he will get a job. Jonas's father is a nurturer and takes care of the newchildren. His father takes care of a baby who is to small for his age and might get released. At the ceremoney of 12 the elders skip his name... Will Jonas turn 12? Will the newchild get released? READ THIS AWESOME BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!
