Katie Kudera writes the following about Hatchet :

“I must keep holding on.” Brian is stranded in the Canadian woods, after a horrific plane crash. He is desperate for food, shelter, and safety. Will he make it? Or will he be left dead? This book is a page turner, because of all the things Brian goes through. One thing he went through was when he was attacked by a moose. Hatchet also has many surprises like when a porcupine came into his shelter and he got hurt from its spikes. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good realistic fiction. Also, this is a good read for anyone from ages eight to 16. Adults might enjoy this book too.
