Chris Magan writes the following about Hatchet :
Do you like exciting books with suspense? If you do then Hatchet is the book for you. This book is realistic fiction; it’s also based on a true story. It’s about Brian, a regular thirteen year old, with divorced parents, and is in a plane flying to Canada to see his dad, but the pilot, who his sitting right next to him, has a heart attack. Now Brian is stuck in the woods with nothing but his clothes and the hatchet that his mother gave to him.
The story is very suspenseful; you never know what’s going to happen to Brian in the story. Imagine if you had to be stuck in the woods with nothing but a hatchet. Anyone who read this book would tell you that it is really good. To prove it the book was the “Newbery Honor Book.” Anyone who likes an exciting book with a lot of suspense would love this book. Well I hope you consider reading this book, well I got to read on.
