Roll of Thunder Hear my cry is a wonderful book one of my favorites. The book is about a african american family growing up during reconstruction and the great depression. The Logan family (Big Ma, Mama, Papa, Stacey, Cassie, Christopher John, and Little man, and Mr. Morrison) is struglling to keep their land. Stacey's bestfriend TJ (an african american) ,a trouble maker, goes to town with two of the Simms boys (R.W. and Melvin both are white) to robb a store and steal a gun. R.W. and Melvin kill Mr. Barentet and hurt Mrs, Baremtet. Then when he threatens to tell everybody what they had done the beat him up badly (they break his ribs and jaw)and throw him in the back of the truck and go into the pool hall. TJ climbs from the truck and crawls to the logan's house. He asks Stacey and Cassie and Christopher John and Little man to help him get home. They walk him home then a littl ewhile later Charlie RW Melvin and a bunch of other white folks come into TJ's house and are going to hang him. In desperation to save him Papa, Mr. Morrison, and Mr. Jamison start a fire to prevent the Lynching of TJ Avery.
