Sydney writes the following about The Giver :
The Giver was a some what good book. For me it wasn't really my type of book. I like a book that has a little mystery to it, a book that makes me want to keep reading to find out what happens next but The Giver did make me curious about what "released" meant. Other than that it wasn't really satisfying to me. Some parts were ok but then some was kind of not ok. It think that the book only had Jonas and The Giver arguing and some parts had them getting along but I did feel kind of bad when i found out how Jonas's father released that baby and how they released the old people I can't believe they would do that but I do remember how a old person asked to be released. So I liked some parts and I didn't like some parts. Other than that this book is about making the perfect community and by prefect I mean they only keep the healthiest babies and release the others. Other wise if you like a book that has to do with making the town/community/world perfect you will like this book.
