DJ writes the following about The Giver :
This is a very good book. I like the suspence Lois Lowry puts in this science fiction Newberry Award winning book. The Giver is very detailed. I think the author's purpose for writing this book is that Lois Lowry wishes the world would be a perfect place and nothing goes wrong, or anyone was jealous of someone else. Lois Lowry's writing style is superb, because she leaves a lot of detail and it really makes you feel like you are in the book yourself, as Jonas. (The main character.) I think I would want Jonas to live in my (make-believe) society because he has wisdom, intellegence, integrity, and honesty. The only thing I did not like about this book was that towards the end she left us hanging, but that is probaly because I did not read the 2nd book. This book is good for anyone who likes suspence.
