jake kriech writes the following about The Giver :

I think the purpose of the author writing this book was to show the earth is perfect how it is which I agree with. The author did the setting great she explained how it looks like, the rules, and the community’s way of living. I didn’t like the ending though it was hard to follow and people have different interpretations. If I was the author I would change it by making it easier to follow and have ever one have the same interpretation. I would enjoy a person like Jonas, the main character, because of his perseverance .this book was good but I think it would be great with a different ending.
