For me The Giver was an amazing and inspiring story. This book has gone far beyond what I had expected it to go. In my whole life I had never thought about a world without colors, choices, or weather. Without weather, then what would happen to snowballs and sleding? Without colors, it might be hard to point stuff out to other people; because you couldn't go: "Help! Someone stole my red bike!" Instead, you would say: "Help! Someone stole my bike!" because you could not distinguish colors. I really don't know what to say about choices. For as long as I can think of, mankind has made our own choices. Such as:where to buy a car, what kind of car, what color of the car, what state to live in, what city to live in, how big should the house be, what color will it be, what to put in your house, and who your wife should be.
