Brandon Arriba writes the following about The Giver :

The book called The Giver was an interesting book that I enjoyed. In this book Jonas' community is a Utopia. A Utopia is a "perfect" world. In Jonas' community there is no warfare,disease, or hunger. I highly recommend this book to someone because the story-line and events that occur in this story are very interesting. There are many events in this story that the reader will not expect coming. This is a book that a reader can't put down. Even though this book has many sad scenes in the plot, I think this is an excellent read. I rate this book a 9 because of its interesting story-line and plot. I would keep reading Lois Lowry's books because of how I enjoyed The Giver so much.
