Amanda A. writes the following about The Giver :

The Giver was an interesting book because it is different from other books, keeps the reader going, and it's a Utopia society. I like how the book was different from other books. I could imagine it more in my head because the words were clear. I like how the community was controlled. It had to be all perfect. I kept wanting to read the book because it really caught my eye on all the rules they had to follow. If they broke a rule three times they would be released. I also like how they did things differently in the book, that we don't do in real life. The Utopia society is very different than the society that we live in today. There are many more strict rules they have to follow or they will be released. I would give this book a six because it wasn't my favorite but I still like it. I do not think I would read another book by her. But you know, I just might.
