The Giver is an exciting book that puts true love and courage to the test. One word tp describe this book is courage. I enjoyed the Utopian society, and found the ways of this society very thought provoking. Though the cliff hanger ending was a dissappointment to the book. Even so, this enabled the reader to come up with their idea of the ending. The way the community was run was very interesting. The book had so mush detail it felt as if the reader was in the book. In this book important life lessons were taught. these lessons include protecting your loved ones, always stay brave, and your never alone. I would like to read many more of Lois Lowry's books but Number the Stars looks the best.
