The Giver by Lois Lowry was a very interesting book. It made you think about things that are normally taken for granted. I enjoyed reading this book because it was an idea that I would not have thought of otherwise. I believe that the most interesting character in the story was the Giver himself. He had the very important job of keeping all the information about the human race so that the rest of the population would not have to remember it or think about it. It is important to remember the past so that we can learn from it. I did not like the idea of only one person knowing the past. We all need to be able to remember so that we can all participate in making the world a better place. I would enjoy reading more books by Lois Lowry if more were written, I will look for more of his books.
