The Giver by: Lois Lowry An Amazing Book 4 stars out of 5 The book The Giver is an amazing book. I would give it four stars. It is a book about a kid named Jonas who lives in a community. They try to make this community a utopian society. The book tries to tell people that nothing is perfect. You will see why once you read the book. Jonas and his friends grew up in the perfect community. When Jonas turned twelve he realized that life that is not perfect is better. Jonas goes on a journey to try to make the community not perfect. Jonas‘s friends live in the perfect community. They get assigned a job also. Their job is not as important as Jonas’s though. They talk about friendship a lot in this book. Jonas has friends from school and he becomes friends with the Giver. Jonas also learns to love. He loves his parents, friends, and the Giver. The Giver is a book that has the perfect combination of sadness and happiness. You can almost feel the love while you are reading the book. The ending makes you very excited. It makes you wonder what is going to happen next after each paragraph. If you read this book, you will be amazed by the end of it. You will love it just as much as I did. Lois Lowry did really well on this book. You should read it!
