Michelle writes the following about Long Winter :

Laura and her family are in for a hard winter. They move into town to prepare. Laura and Carry have to go to school. When they are at school, a storm hits. It is difficult for the children to get home. There are other similar stories throughout the book. This book was so exciting at times, I thought I was at the movies. I really got into the book. I wish I was there. It was a sad story. It really touched my heart. I wish there were more writers like Laura Ingalls Wilder. My mom also liked that book very much. She was the one who wanted me to read the book. I'm very glad I read it.
