My partner and I have read the book The Giver by Lois Lowry. This book is about a boy named Jonas who received an assignment when he became a twelve. He lives in this unique community where everything is decided and controlled. He receives not an assignment, but a selection to become the next Receiver of Memories. Jonas is nervous about his new assignment but he eventually becomes accustomed to it. He finds out many things that no one in the community knew and he soon realizes the truth in everything.
My partner and I gave this book a rating of 10. This was because this book holds our attention and kept us wanting to read more with every page turn. We loved how the plot was carefully put out and we also loved how the author carefully told us detail on exciting scenes. The wave of realization throughout the book connected with us because we imagined things that we never thought of. We wouldn’t like to change anything in the book because we love it the way it is. We do recommend this book to other preteens or adults. We don’t think that this book was made for children underneath 10 years of age. This is because we don’t think that they will be able to understand the book thoroughly. Some precision of language was used in this book but nothing really inappropriate.
Overall, this book really kept our attention. We enjoyed reading it and we really want to read more. Obviously, we truly recommend this book. We know that if you read it, you will feel the same way we do now. Thank you for reading our book review.
