Vincent Mcgee and Allen Turner writes the following about The Giver :

This book is about a boy named Jonas. He lives in a very organized community surcludded from the world. The rules in the community are very strict. No rudeness, no lying, and no asking any non-polite questions and many more rules. Jonas and his community enjoy this for two reasons. It is safe and there are no crimes, and they don’t know about any other ways of life. When Jonas turns 12 he will be given an assignment for life. At ceremony Jonas was told to be the Receiver of Memory. Jonas is very scared of being the Receiver of Memory. Will Jonas survive, read the book to find out. I think this book deserved a 8.7 because it is a good story with a brilliant storyline it’s interesting from beginning to end.
