This book The Giver is about a boy named Jonas who lives in a special place called the Community where everything is in black and white with no colors, where there are no animals, and where they don’t have feelings like love, pain, and sorrow. On the day he turns into a Twelve, he was told he was not Assigned, he was selected. He had been selected to be the Receiver of Memories. Now that he has been chosen to be the Receiver of Memories, he found out many things about this Community that he has never known before. He also found out that they used to have color and animals and feelings, but that was before they went into Sameness, which made the Community lost all of these wonderful qualities. Jonas wants the Community to go back to life like it used to be; life with colors, animals, and feelings. Will he be able to change the Community? Or will the Community stay as it has been for a long time?
We thought this book The Giver was really good because it was interesting and a bit suspenseful. We also thought it was interesting because this book made us think about how life would be if we lived in a world like that, if we lived a life that is very different from the lives we lead in this world.
We would recommend this book to anyone who like science fiction or likes a good story because this story, even though it’s not real, it has some science to it so it would make sense, and this story is really interesting, like I said before, because the book really made us think what it would be like to live in a world like that.
We rated this book a 9.0 because the story was interesting, amusing,%2Proxy-Connection: keep-alive
