Evyy writes the following about The Outsiders :
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is an amazing book to have read. The story takes place in a small, rural town in the mid 1900s. The two main groups in this story are the socs and the greasers. The socs are wealthy people and the greasers were poor. Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, Dallas Winston, Darrel Curtis, Sodapop Curtis, Two-Bit Mathews are members of the greasers. Cherry Valance, Marcia, Randy Adderson, Bob Sheldon are members of the socs.
One day Ponyboy and Johnny go out to sit in the park. While at the park they meet up with the socs. The socs come over and start to fight with them. One of them tries to drown Ponyboy but Johnny helps his friend and kills the soc. They go meet up with Dallas Winston, the toughest and meanest of the group for advice. Dallas tells them to take a train to Windrixville and hide at an abandoned church and also gives them a gun. As Dally had told them they take a train to an abandoned church in Windrixville that is far away to hide from the police so they wont have to go to jail.
Ponyboy and Johnny have been at the church for a quite a long time. Dally takes them out to get some food and when they come back they see that the church is on fire. They soon realized that there were kids inside the building so they went in to rescue them. While they get the children they get severely hurt and have to go to the hospital. Later that night, Dallas robs a convenience store and gets in trouble a lot of trouble.
Will Ponyboy lose his friends? You will have to read the book to find out what happens with the characters.
