What I liked about the book of Ember was that the city was built by the builders. I also liked how they entered assignment day. They introduced the characters by how Doon and Lina did not like each other at the beginning of the book. When they were twelve they had to get a job. Then Doon and Lina had become friends and found something out about Ember.
Now on to the things I did not like about “The City of Ember.” What I did not like was how Lina’s parents died at the beginning and they didn’t know where they were and they didn’t know how to fix the generator. The reason I did not like those things is because it must have been frustrating for them. It also kind of made me mad and that is what I dislike about Ember.
I rated this book a five because it doesn’t get exciting until the end. It kept leaving you hanging at the end of the chapters.
