james writes the following about The Outsiders :

The outsiders was an okay book. it is about two rivaled gangs.The gangs are the greasers who are lower middle class citizens who show emotion and have a strong bond with thier fellow gang members.The main charecters in the story are greasers.Thiers ponyboy,darry,and sodapop curtis.Then thier is darry a mean hearted stonecold hood who shows no emotion for anyone or anybody.Twobit Mathews who did not get his name from a cereal box. he always cracks a joke about someone or something. Last and least thier is the gang pet johny cade who is beaten at home,and looks like a kicked dog. The other gang the socs are rich snobby up tight kids from the west side. I give the outsiders a seven out of ten. it is a good mix of romance action and excitement.
