I found the book very good, easy to grasp your attention, and very discriptive. Sense the copy I read, there were no illistrations, the way S.E Hinton discribed each charector was supurb! I am one who takes awhile to actully grasp my attention to read a book, but when I picked it up, I was reading for hours. I was really impressed how they discribed their style of living, each fight, how he had the lingo, example the Police, were translated as the 'Fuzz'. To explain how well this book was written, days after I had finished it, I continued to think of their life, try and perdict, or re-write in my mind the rest of each charectors life. In chapter 9, when Johnny dies, I was crying.. And along with Chapter 10, when Dally became suicidle, I was still, and when Ponyboy had his cuncution, I was worried. That's how well the story grasps your attention. I would reccomend this book to anyone for a good read. Along with "That was then, This is now" The sequle. It might not revolve around Ponyboy Curtis, but he is mentioned. It more discribs another kid who lived inbetween the Socs and the Greasers, and how it was while the West and East side had their diffrences.
