"The Outsiders" is a book that most kids can relate too, especially kids 11 and up. It has a truthful quality that makes you relate to the characters as they battle with how hard it is growing up. We all feel alone sometimes or that our true family is the friends we surround ourselves with and those are themes that are very prominent. I consider "The Outsiders" to be one of the best coming of age books along with "Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger and "My Fractured Life" by Rikki Lee Travolta.
