S.E. Hinton's book, The Outsiders, was a very interesting book. When I read it, I found it hard to put down. Most books start off kind of slow, but this one did not. It caught your attention from the very beginning, in my opinion.
Some of the things I like about the book are: it told the story in a kid's prespective, in words we are familiar with, it used slang words, which made it funny, and the characters seemed real. I think that most people would consider the Socs to be like what Preps are today.
The thing I did not like about the book: the Greasers were always getting jumped by the Socs. I really like the way the book was written though. It was an excellent novel!
