I thought the book The Outsiders was a well thought out book. S.E. Hinton did a good job of interpreting this book into teenager?s language. In the book The Outsiders, it does a good job of showing that understanding and kindness can overcome prejudice. For instance, with Cherry Valance and Ponyboy, although they didn?t understand each other?s values and points of view, they understood where each other were coming from, so they worked to overcome their misunderstandings. Also Randy and Ponyboy did a good job of overcoming their prejudice, because they realized they were a lot alike. So, even though it is hard to find, this book does a good job of showing that understanding and kindness overcome prejudice.
