The Outsiders is a great book for teenagers and young adults. It is filled with memorable characters that are well thought up and wonderfully put together. The main character Ponyboy is faced with many challenges as a young boy who is part of a gang called the Greasers. His parents died when he was young and he now lives with his two older brothers Soda and Darry. The Greasers are in this big argument with the Socs who are the east side rich kids. I think that the reason they didn?t get along is because they didn?t understand each other and each others values. They got so caught up in the thick of things that they didn?t see that they were hurting everyone around them. When Cherry Valence one of the Socs girlfriends talked to Pony it showed each of them that the Greasers and the Socs weren?t as different as they thought they were. I would reccomend this book to anyone.
