Mary writes the following about The Outsiders :

I thought the Outsiders was a great book. It' s all about a boy named Ponyboy who's tough,but confused.All his life his loyalties have been to his brother and to his gang.Him, his gang, and all the people form the west side of town were known as greaser. All the people from the other side of town referd to by the greasers as the socs, were in constant duel with the greasers. They even jumped greasers every chance the got. One day the socs went to far, and tried to drown Poyboy.Then Ponyboy's freind Jhonny kills the soc that was trying to drown Ponyboy, then a night mare of violance begins.
