labby writes the following about The Giver :

I believe this book gave us an insight as to what would happen if we gave up our individuality.I cannot imagine my life without color, memories, or emotions. I think though that a memory of war might be alot for a 12 year old to handle. there also was something lacking at the ending. there shold be a sequel to say how Jonas and Gabe handle living elsewhere.
